Welcome
The Washington Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Institute represents woodworkers, suppliers, and other professionals in Washington State. We work to educate working professionals and the next generation of woodworkers, and to promote quality products and craftsmanship in our industry.
Together with members we are working hard to educate and train young people with the skills of architectural woodwork through networking with Woodwork Career Alliance. Local High Schools and Technical Colleges can have a Skills Standard and help from our local members to make the next generation of young woodworkers— included but not limited to Auto CAD drawing, CNC Programming/Operations, Fabrication and even Customer Sales/Estimating.
Vision
To promote the highest quality craftsmanship in architectural woodwork standards; to educate our members and the next generation of woodworkers; and to provide networking opportunities to elevate the woodworking industry in our region.
Mission
We fulfill our Vision by:
- Promoting the use of the Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS) and the Quality Certification Program (QCP) created by AWI National and recognized globally.
- Providing access to both local and national educational opportunities for our chapter members.
- Establishing and growing connections with students to influence the next generation of woodworkers and industry affiliated professionals to promote and support the sustainability of our industry’s future workforce.
- Creating outstanding networking opportunities and fun events to create and bolster relationships between professionals in our region.
